6/25/2009 Thoughts Run: 1st km – What is Marathon to Me? This is a book deserving my second visit,因为它用文字把跑步中的感想具体化了。
What’s Marathon to Me?
Just for the sake of completion, I completed a full marathon. 就是这么一个和自己折腾的轮回,pay my sweat and time for a strong body and robust mind. That's marathon to me.
7/17/2005 Outsource to the Sea"Outsource" is no longer a fresh item to both business and tech person. To countries like US, UK, or Singapore, most of the time, this word is equivalent to "job losing" or "culture shock". While at the other side of the earth, India and China usually take the advantage of their cheap HR costs in this game. A piece of interesting reading found on computer world today gives a brand new idea of outsource: "outsource it to the sea!"
What a pity, my company sold the cruise business already... Otherwise, Offshore IT Department! hahaha... 7/14/2005
Today is "MP3" 10 years anniversary as well. Yesterday, Apple announced its net income for third fiscal quarter rose 75%. Fueled by continued strong iPod sales, Apple is welcoming its 3rd blooming time. Well, 10 year ago, when Mac is suffering the freezing winter, who can expect the new borned baby will inject an energizer to one of the PC giants. BTW, don't forget Mac has not been phased out as the supporting actor. Another piece of news says that "Speed of Apple Intel dev systems impress developers". No wonder Microsoft starts its collabration with Creative. Can the rest feel the shadow of Apple is coming already? 7/13/2005 NKF Fiasco (cont')NKF withdrew all suits against SPH. That's a disaster, yet the best thing they can do now. Obviously, NKF chose a wrong opponent at wrong time.
But some interesting facts are worthy of attention:
According to my colleagues, NKF Toa Payoh Dialysis Centre had been doodled "big liar!" in both English and Chinese this morning.
A snapshot of comments on this online petition.
A quote from my Customer Relationship instructor "Rice can anyhow eat, words cannot anyhow say!". 7/12/2005 NKF FiascoHmm... It's an interesting reading on today's ST regarding "NKF Suit against SPH". Obviously SPH is taking the advantage now, and, they are speaking using their own "mouth".
According to the paper, it was a trash to NKF yesterday on the court. Durai disclosed his salary, withdrew his allegation that SPH had an agenda against him, and said "I should have have said, I travel on first class".
Put the legal stuff aside, personally I'm quite reluctant to the idea of running so many charity shows every year. Charity is for helping disadvantaged people, or trying our luck, or defending company's honour lists, or pleasing everyone in difference purposes but same time? What a problem! |
